Why you keep falling off the wagon
Everyone has off days but if you are having ongoing issues with consistency, it’s an indicator that something needs tweaking. Here are 3 possible reasons that this is happening:⠀⠀ ⠀ 1. It's too restrictive: This is probably the most common issue that I see when clients come to me. There is no need to eat like a competitive bodybuilder if you're not getting on stage. You don't have to eliminate foods, only eat ‘clean', track every macro to the gram, etc. Your plan should be as flexible as possible whilst still allowing you to reach your goals. Don't make things harder than they need to be. ⠀ 2. You’re being too hard on yourself: People are often so mean to themselves when they think they have been less than perfect. When they perceive they have ‘messed up’, then will feel lots of anxiety and guilt, sometimes leading to self-sabotage. You are not a robot and you shouldn’t expect to be. It is okay to have shitty workouts, missed workouts or days when our food is all over the place. ⠀ 3. It's not what you really want: You have permission to go for whatever goal you want. However, it is important to ensure that what you are chasing is what you really want deep down, not just what is popular or exciting. For example, there are a lot of people who compete on stage in bodybuilding, bikini or figure but that doesn't mean you have to have the same goals too.
