Why you can't stick to your plan
If you are struggling to stay 'on track' then listen up. You are not a failure for finding it hard but if you are having continual issues with consistency, it’s an indicator that something is off. Here are 3 possible reasons:⠀ ⠀ 1. It's too restrictive: This is probably the most common issue that I see when clients come to me. There is no need to eat like a competitive bodybuilder if you're not getting on stage. You don't have to eliminate foods, only eat ‘clean', track every macro to the gram, etc. Your plan should be as flexible as possible whilst still allowing you to reach your goals. Don't make things harder than they need to be. 2. It doesn't fit your lifestyle: Sometimes a plan can be great on paper but just isn't a good fit for your daily life. Maybe you are super busy and have a long commute to work so getting to the gym 5 days a week just isn't going to be an option. If this is the case, change the plan to make it fit. There are very few things in health and fitness which are absolutes. ⠀ 3. It's not what you really want: You have permission to go for whatever goal you want. However, it is important to ensure that what you are chasing is what you really want deep down, not just what is popular or exciting. For example, there are a lot of people who compete on stage in bodybuilding, bikini or figure but that doesn't mean you have to have the same goals too. ⠀ Have you struggled with sticking to a plan?
