What to do when you feel like shit


I talk a lot about gratitude, celebrating small wins, self care etc but these aren't always accessible when you feel like shit. Here are 3 things you can do to help yourself feel better:⠀ ⠀ 1. Work on something you care about: Find something that you enjoy and get stuck in. Ideally something that provides a form of escapism and where the outcome isn't important. This might be something really simple but could make a big difference. 2. Do something nice for someone else: This seems counter intuitive but helping others can make us feel much better about ourselves because we feel more valuable. We often don't realise our own skills and capabilities until we are able to apply them towards others.


3. Find something active that you enjoy: So often we focus on the physical benefits of exercise and forget the mental health aspects. Although being active is often the last thing you feel like doing when you feel like shit, it can really help to shift your mood. Make sure it's something that is fun and don't put pressure on yourself to do it for a fixed period of time, just see how you go!
