What to do after indulging over Easter
Unlike what most of the fitness industry will tell you, eating lots of chocolate sometimes is totally normal and not a big deal. ⠀ ⠀ When it comes to handling these situations, what we do afterwards is a lot more important than what we do during. The best thing you can do after these events is just move on. You don’t need to compensate. Your body is fantastic about balancing itself out without you having to do anything. You just need to get out of its way. If you try to compensate, you’re much more likely to get into a cycle of restricting and overeating. This is not only an unhealthy place, physically and mentally, but also reinforces the idea that you can’t trust yourself around food. ⠀ In all of this, I think it's really important to focus on the big picture. Food is awesome but it’s just one aspect of life. There’s so much else out there to spend your time and energy on.
