Restrictive eating vs mindful eating

Continual restriction is no fun. When food is seen as the enemy, exercise is just seen as a way to burn calories and you put enormous pressure on yourself to stay on track, you are existing but not truly living. There’s so much more to life than food and fitness and we can’t appreciate that if we are in that restrictive mentality.

When you adopt a mindful eating approach, food is not a big deal. It’s something you enjoy but it doesn’t make or break your day. You exercise in a way that you enjoy, not because it burns calories. You don’t force yourself to work out when you are tired or injured and you don’t restrict your calories if you can’t get to the gym. You eat treats when you want, with no guilt or anxiety.

I’ve been in the restrictive mindset so I know what it’s like when food and exercise rule your life. It made me unhealthy and unhappy so I am so passionate about helping people get out of that place. Letting go is hard but it opens up so many doors!
