Intuitive eating and journaling

When I start to work with clients, they often feel like they’re stuck in a diet mentality. Their routines and habits can be so ingrained that they just feel like they’re normal. In the short term, these behaviours give them security because they appease their anxiety and guilt. However, over the long term they prevent them from living the lives that they really want and experiencing true happiness. One activity that I have used with clients recently is journaling about their vision when they’re free from the diet mentality. . It can be really powerful to put into paper what you’d like your future to look like when you’re no longer at war with your body, when you’re not controlling your food and when you’re not punishing yourself with exercise. There’s a lot of time and energy that gets freed up and it’s exciting to think about where you want to channel it.
