How to do fitness your own way

When I talk about my approach to food and fitness, I’m not telling you what to do, I’m reminding you that you have options. For so long, I thought the only way to ‘do fitness’ was tracking macros, having the most ‘optimal’ training programme and looking lean. If you want those things, that’s totally up to you but it doesn’t have to be that way for everyone. There are so many different fitness goals that we can set for ourselves and a variety of ways to achieve them. Fitness should be adding to your life, not being a source of stress. It’s important to think carefully about what you really want, rather than just following what everyone else is doing. If you are going after something that you really want, it should be fun, not a chore. If it’s not enjoyable, it’s time to rethink either your approach or the goal. It’s also totally okay to opt-out. There are times in your life when chasing fitness goals just isn’t an option. This doesn’t mean you are lazy, just that you are human and life happens.
