Emotional eating and intuitive eating

Society tells you that emotional eating is bad. It tells you that you have no self-control, you’re lazy and you need to make up for it later if you do it.⠀ Contrary to popular belief, emotional eating isn’t ‘bad’ or a big deal. We all eat for reasons other than hunger and that’s part of being human.⠀ When an instance of emotional eating does occur, it’s important to be kind to yourself. Don’t beat yourself up or try to ‘make up for it’, the best thing you can do is just move on. It’s also worth checking in to see whether there are other coping strategies that are worth adding to your toolkit. This means that you’ve got plenty of options next time you experience an option so you can choose the one that best meets your needs.
