Embracing fluctuations in intuitive eating

Because of diet culture, you might find yourself engaging in black-and-white thinking, even when you’ve decided to ditch rules around eating and exercise. You might be thinking there is a ‘right’ way of doing intuitive eating. You might be thinking there is a ‘perfect’ way of exercising. You might be thinking that you’re constantly either passing or failing. It’s normal to struggle with these binaries but it’s possible to challenge them. Remind yourself that what your body needs varies day to day, week to week and month to month. Sometimes you’ll eat more than feels good, sometimes less. You’ll have some workouts that you absolutely love and some when you're just not feeling it. You will have days where you feel great about your body and days where you don’t feel as comfortable. Those are all normal experiences and they can teach you a lot about yourself. Tuning into your needs and preferences will be a constant work in progress and that’s totally okay. The key is to allow yourself to explore stuff without fear, guilt or judgement. If you keep practising it does get easier, I promise!
