Do you let yourself chill?


Something I have really struggled with is allowing myself to relax and unwind. It’s funny when I was planning for my last photoshoot I sent some shots to the photographer ahead of time and he said ‘I notice a lot of these poses are sitting down.’ That was very deliberate. We are told to constantly be moving, to be productive, to be achieving goals and I don’t think it’s helpful. I’ve found that slowing down and being careful about how we use our time and energy is actually a lot more likely to lead to results in any area of our lives. It’s still something I struggle with, my default is to try do all the things and to do them as fast as possible. However, when I stay mindful I’m able to take a step back, breathe and continue at a more moderate pace. Life is short but for most people, it’s not that short. You have more time than you think to be successful, whatever that means to you. If you take your time, you’re not only more likely to reach your goal but you’ll also be able to enjoy the process along the way.
