Diet mentality vs intuitive eating: cues for eating
Diet culture tells you that you can’t trust your own body to tell you when, what and how much to eat and instead need to adhere to strict rules. ⠀ That is BS. Your body is so much smarter than you think. It is not trying to trick you. It is not working against you. It is doing its best to keep you alive. You can trust it. It’s important to acknowledge that being able to eat intuitively is a privilege. Not everyone has access to enough food, let alone the foods they enjoy. Not everyone has that control over their schedule to be able to decide when they can eat. However, you can work within the boundaries you have to listen to your own body as much as possible. . It’s not easy to change your mindset. It takes practice, patience and persistence. You can do it and you are worth it!
