Change your self talk
The way we talk to ourselves has a huge impact on both our emotions and our behaviours. If we are constantly speaking to ourselves in a negative way, we are more likely to feel angry, guilty, anxious or stressed.
These are not only unplesant to experience but can then lead to us engaging in behaviours that confirm these ideas we have about ourselves. For example, if we label ourselves as being unable to control ourselves around food, we are a lot more likely to overeat than if we don't engage in that self talk.
We all engage in negative self talk sometimes but it's good to be able to notice it and challenge it. This isn't easy to do and takes a lot of practice. However, it definitely pays off.
